Monthly Meetings

Prior to Covid, these was our most recent way we ran our meetings – but for now, things are a little more unstructured but hopefully still leave you feeling inspired!

1) Welcome
A club member opens the evening, shares relevant news and upcoming events for our club.

2) Monthly Challenge
We go through each photo and as a group, we engage with constructive critique, compliments, suggestions and questions. Members are invited to talk about their own image and share their creative process if they are comfortable. Images shot with DSLR or mirrorless cameras are preferred.

3) Shoot and Tell (NEW!)
This portion of the evening gives our members the opportunity to share their images without judgement in a positive, supportive atmosphere. Whether it’s a quick snap of a location you would like to revisit when the light is right, something beautiful you captured recently in your own backyard or you want to share your progress of a particular photography technique, we want to see them and hear the story behind them. Images captured with any type of device are accepted, i.e. smart phone, dslr, film camera, telescope, drone etc.

4) Short Break and Print Competition/Viewing
Chat with our members while sipping on a tea or coffee and trying some locally sourced tasty treats while viewing our members’ latest photographic prints.

5) Photography Presentation
A guest speaker/club member hosts a short talk about a photography related topic. These presentations are suitable for beginners all the way to the more advanced. A summary of these talking points will also be emailed to all members and those who attended.

We hope you leave feeling inspired and ready to try something new!

Shoot and Tell – How To Take Part

Each month, we give our members (and prospective members) a safe and supportive space to share their photographs. For former or prospective members, please contact us to let us know you are attending – we want to be sure that we receive your photos.
